About Maria
My path
My work is centered around creating a space where you can slow down, listen more deeply, and reconnect with that inner guidance. This is not about fixing, it’s about supporting you in returning to your natural state of balance, clarity, and ease.
I began my career as a massage therapist and health educator after graduating from the National Holistic Institute in Berkeley, California.
Over the past 20+ years, I’ve gained diverse experience working in chiropractic offices, supporting athletes at marathons and triathlons, and working with professional dancers from the Bay Area Repertory Dance Company. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how the body moves, adapts, and holds patterns over time.
For the past 15 years, I’ve welcomed clients into my home-based practice, where I continue to deepen my knowledge and refine my skills.

The Approach
An Integrative Approach to Bodywork
My approach to bodywork has been shaped by more than 20 years of study, practice, and curiosity about the many ways we can support the body.
I draw from a blend of therapeutic massage techniques, including deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release. Over the years, I have also explored both Western and Eastern traditions of bodywork, including lymphatic drainage, Bowen Therapy, Thai massage, acupressure, and Shiatsu. Each of these approaches has expanded the way I understand the body and continues to inform how I work with each individual client.
My work has also evolved beyond hands-on techniques. Through my training as a Block Therapy and Fascial Maneuvers Coach, I offer practical tools that help you become an active participant in your own wellbeing. Rather than simply receiving treatment, you can learn ways to work with your body between sessions and develop a deeper understanding of your own patterns.
My training in Hakomi adds another dimension to this work by bringing mindful awareness to the language of the body. Together, we can become curious about the sensations, patterns, and messages that arise in the present moment—creating opportunities for both physical release and deeper internal shifts.
I don’t believe there is one technique or approach that works for every body. Instead, I draw from this broad foundation of knowledge and listen to what your body is communicating, allowing each session to be responsive to where you are in that moment.
My goal isn’t simply to help you feel better—it is to help you understand your body, develop tools you can carry with you, and feel empowered to participate in your own healing journey.

The progress We have made is incredible and I know I will be able to continue my journey to healing. Maria is my partner in my health and her expertise helps me every week.”
